Measured building surveys

Measured building surveys refer to the internal and external of buildings and structures. They are principal for reconstruction, refurbishment, renovation, repairs of buildings and structures as well as for the asset management. Zesmill performs measured building surveys of various buildings, architectural complexes and structures. These include:

  • castles, mansions, towers, theatres, museums
  • archeological sites
  • office buildings, malls, stores, clubs and other commercial properties
  • factory floors, sheds and depots, electrical substations, hangars, on-ground and underground parking lots
  • amusement parks, arenas, swimming pools and other sport and recreation facilities.

Zesmill’s surveyors employ long range and short range terrestrial laser scanners, total stations, digital levels, laser levels, and special photographic cameras. We provide our clients with highly accurate and detail survey outputs and models: site plans, floor plans, elevations, cross sections, long sections, 3D mesh (TIN) models, 3D PDF models, 2D and 3D AutoCAD files.

A site plan is a survey plan (a drawing, set of drawings) showing the physical arrangement of existing property.  Floor plans and elevations are the most important references for the architects and structural drafters. Floor plans are geometrically correct models of a building as shown from above. Elevation and façade drawings are scaled drawings as shown from the front or side of a building or structure. Long and cross sections are scaled cuts through the entire building at a vertical plane perpendicular to the floor.

We have rich experience in surveying historic buildings, industrial facilities, commercial and residential properties. Our staff members have performed cutting-edge measured building surveys of buildings and structures across Europe including:

  • The Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant sarcophagus (“The Shelter Object”), Ukraine
  • Fort Weisenau, Mainz, Germany
  • Reitdiephaven waterfront houses, Groningen, Netherlands
  • Jerash (ancient Gerasa) archeological site, Jordan
  • Arena Shopping Mall, Kiev, Ukraine
  • Batthyány Spa Hotel, Budapest, Hungary
